Hi! I’m Ms. Izaguirre — or “Izzy.” I’m a certified secondary English teacher with experience supporting students in grades 6–12, including AP English Language, AP Literature, and college essay writing. Because I’ve taught AP Lang in the classroom, I understand exactly what students need to succeed on the exam — and how to build the reading and writing skills that lead up to it.
I specialize in helping middle school students close skill gaps and build confidence, while also supporting high schoolers who want stronger performance in English classes, AP courses, and college admissions.
My students loved the warm, relaxed “Lit Lounge” feel of my classroom, and I bring that same growth-focused energy into every tutoring session. My approach blends clear instruction, relatable examples, and personalized support that meets students where they are. Whether your child needs help with reading comprehension, writing, transitioning to high school, AP prep, or crafting a standout college essay, I’m here to guide them step by step.

AP English requires more than strong writing — it requires understanding how the exam is taught and scored.
As a certified secondary English educator with experience teaching AP-level courses, I provide instruction that is aligned with real classroom and College Board expectations.
